Good Afternoon Ward 6!
Mayor Gray recently submitted his budget to the Council. One of the proposals included installing traffic cameras that would produce revenues totaling around $25 Million. Mayor Gray believes this will produce safer streets for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Other people feel they shouldn’t be excessively ticketed by the city. Other concerns involve the locations of the new cameras; what role will the community have in placing these cameras? Come and Ask!
The proposed traffic cameras are just one of many budget items that will be discussed at Mayor Gray’s Ward 6 Budget Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday April 25th, 6:30-8:30 at Eastern High School (1700 East Capitol Street). You can find more information on the budget at budget.dc.gov
In addition to the budget presentation, Mayor Gray and his entire Cabinet will be answering your questions on a whole host of topics. If you have DCRA Issues, Director Majett will be in attendance. Parking issues? Directors Howland and Bellamy will be there to help! If you would like to praise your experience at DMV, Director Babers will be glad to hear.
We hope you are able to make it to this awesome opportunity to engage our city’s leadership. The co-host committee will be rolled out in future emails, so be on the look out!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Brittney (Brittney.wright@dc.gov) or myself!
Thank you!
